Goce Delcev University in Stip, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia is a state university, established by the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia on 27 March 2007, ranked in the second place in the rankings of state universities in the country. It is a new and energetic institution of higher education, which constantly follows the interests of the young population, as well as the newest economic, industrial and technological trends. The diplomas of Goce Delcev University in Stip are internationally recognized and certified in accordance with national and international standards and are competitive at the labour market. Goce Delcev University in Stip integrates twelve faculties (Faculty of Natural and Technical Sciences, Faculty of Medical Sciences, Faculty of Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Computer Science, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Educational Sciences,  Faculty of Law, Faculty of Philology, Faculty of Tourism and Business Logistics) and three artistic academies (Film Academy, Academy of Music, Art Academy) organized in three university campuses. The lectures are conducted in education centres that are dispersed in twelve Macedonian cities. 19 000 students have already recognized Goce Delcev University in Stip as an excellent opportunity for their academic development. Goce Delcev University in Stip strives to provide excellent conditions for research that will not only meet the needs of its own staff, but of the business community as well, which has more dynamic requirements, in terms of resources, technology, services and innovative solutions to improve quality of life, community development and environmental protection. Laboratories are located in the Research Centre equipped with following instrumentation: ICP-MS, ICP-OES, HPLC-DAD-RID-FD, GC-QQQ-MS, ELISA instruments, PCRs and other small instruments necessary for sample preparation. Goce Delcev University in Stip has successfully implemented the ISO 9001 standard for quality management. The main activities of the Goce Delcev University in Stip are to introduce and promote innovative ways of teaching science, especially of teaching chemistry, presenting the opportunities for learning about how science works and about the interaction of science, life and society. The laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture is very well equipped for performing quality control of wine, oil, fruits and vegetables and other food samples according to the implemented MKS EN ISO/IEC 17025:2006 standard. The faculty has established strong research collaboration with international institutions from different country, such as Bulgaria, Hungary, Germany, Austria, Romania, Italy, involving research activities in the fields of wine chemistry, enology, biochemistry, environmental chemistry, food quality control etc. The Key persons from this university (Tatjana Ruskovska, Violeta Ivanova-Petropulos, Darko Bosnakovski, Misko Milev and Biljana Balabanova) involved in the project activities will fulfil the requirements within the NATO SPS-MYP project, based on their experience in teaching of general chemistry, biochemistry, analytical chemistry, instrumental analysis, enology, wine and sensory analysis. Also, this three persons are very well experienced in experimental analytical chemistry techniques, such as HPLC-DAD-MS, GC-MS, ICP-MS, MALDI-TOF-MS, voltametric techniques, which are mainly applied on food and non-food samples quality control (wine and oils analysis, biochemical processes etc.) for determination of polyphenols, volatile compounds, heavy metals, fatty acids, sterols, Co-enzyme Q10 and other type of analyses. In general, Faculty of Agriculture and the key persons involved in this project possess skills and expertise for successful implementation and contribution to the NATO SPS-MYP project proposal.
